Monday - Changing One Heart for Many and Memory Monday!



SCRIPTURE FOCUS

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Father God, we come to You today - many believers, one voice - to stand for life. Lord, it is mind-boggling to us that the worth of a human life has deteriorated to the point that its determining factor is convenience. If that life is wanted, we call it a baby and rally as a people behind the mother carrying it, to defend it at all costs. But if it is the result of an "accident", a "mistake", and inconvenient result of a "night gone wrong", it is given the cold name "fetus" and should be just as easy to discard as Friday's trash. Father, You love human life so much that You were willing to sacrifice Your own child so that it wouldn't perish. You've made it quite clear through that one cataclysmic event during this Holy Week over 2000 years ago, that there was NOTHING that You valued MORE than the lives of humans. It's something we can't even understand, but for which we are so grateful. We join together in prayer for our president, Father, that he would be moved this week by the Easter story in a way that perhaps he never has. Help him to see the value that YOU have placed on life and stir his heart to be in accord with YOURS. Believing that You will change one heart for many, we pray in the MIGHTY, LIFE-GIVING NAME OF JESUS CHRIST. Amen.

Changing One Heart for Many, Memory Monday & McShane



SCRIPTURE FOCUS

There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan, that can succeed against the Lord.
Proverbs 21:30

Father God, we come to you today - many believers, one voice - to stand for life. Lord we praise You that, even with many in positions of power that take a stand against life, Your plan continues to move forward, unabated. Thank You for giving us glimpses of that plan at work and encouraging us to press on with the knowledge that NO plan can succeed against You. We pray for our president today, Father, that You would continue to stir his heart (perhaps through the receipt of hundreds of thousands of red envelopes) and impress upon him the need to seek godly wisdom. Surround him with those whose hearts are in tune with Yours and awaken in him a new and strong sense of not just the ethical, but the moral and wise...the RIGHT, according to Your word. Believing You will change one heart for many, we pray in the MIGHTY, LIFE-GIVING NAME OF JESUS CHRIST. Amen.

Here's a little new information on McShane. All the tests show that the tumor has NOT grown! We are ecstatic about that! My mom (a/k/a GiGi) is spending the week with McShane while Mike closes shop in Baton Rouge. McShane & GiGi have never met, but GiGi figures if he's my family, he might as well be her family. I hope they don't wear each other too much. You might keep 'em both in your prayers.

Memory Monday and Changing One Heart for Many

Hey - it's Monday again! This month has flown by.

I finally have wrapped my head around the scriptures that are reasonating with me and I picked out the ones I will be working on!

1/5/09
Eph. 6:12 TNIV – For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

1/15/09
Eph. 6:12 NCV – Our fight is not against people on earth but against the rulers and authorities and the powers of this world’s darkness, against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly world.

Mark 11:23-24 HCSB – I assure you: If anyone says to this mountain, “Be lifted up and thrown into the sea” and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore, I tell you, all the things you pray and ask for – believe that you have received them, and you will have them.

So Eph. 3:16 NIV is the verse I'm currently working on. (I'm about to start Measureless Love study by Beth Moore and it's based on Eph. 3:16-21.)

Father God, we come to you today - many believers, one voice - to stand for life. Lord we praise you that there is no sin so bad that You haven't already defeated it, and no sinner so lost that You haven't already redeemed them. We stand in awe of You that the very one who was the impetus for a law that would take millions of lives is one who answered Your call - one who now has the notoriety to garner the attention of decision-makers and seats of power. So, we pray, Father that her voice would reach the ears of our President, each word from her tongue filled with YOUR POWER to change his heart. We also pray that, through her example, the millions of hurting women whose babies were lost would allow themselves to be found and healed by You. Believing You will change one heart for many, we pray in the MIGHTY, LIFE-GIVING NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, Amen.

Memory Monday & Prayer Requests

Today is Memory Monday, and I shall be back with you on that momentarily (or at my lunch time).

A couple of weeks or so ago, Travis Cottrell had a link to a sweet little boy's page who was in need of prayer. (I've been following along the journey of two little boys who I don't know, nor did I know before the requests for prayer were offered up. I'll share Peter with you later - wow he's doing great and his parents are so full of hope and God is overflowing them right now. It's amazing!) This request is for Gavin. Please go to his blog and read his story. You'll see why he needs prayer and why his parents need prayer. I don't know these sweet people, but my heart breaks for them and this is all I can offer them is prayer.

Praying for someone and lifting their needs up to our Heavenly Father is such an honor, and I know all three of you who read this blog feel the same way.

Memory Monday, Changing One Heart for Many and an Update

I have a small update on McShane here.


Well, I haven't done a great job keeping up Memory Monday, and I am still not doing exactly what thesimplewife had in mind, BUT I'm doing some scripture memory and letting it reside in my heart, even if I can't quote it word for word. I'm glad I'm still what I can! Here is my contribution to Memory Monday and Mama Beth Moore's Siesta Scripture:

Real Life Review CHANGING ONE HEART FOR MANY: A commitment to pray for God to change the heart of President Obama on the subject of abortion.

Monday is our prayer day and this is the scripture focus for this week.

using our current circumstances to disturb us into action, and raising up more
and more volunteers in positions that serve to replace pain and devastation with
hope and healing. We ask You to open President Obama's ears to the increased volume of those speaking on behalf of the unborn and help him to see Your handiwork for what it is. We thank You that the events of today are not a surprise to You, and that while our leader's mind might be turned one way, it's in Your ultimate

Memory Monday


Time for me to pick back up on Memory Monday, hosted by The Simple Wife. (I finally got the little linky box to work!)

To keep me from getting too overwhelmed, I'm going to combine Memory Monday and the challenge to memorize scripture from Living Proof Ministries.



Currently, I'm working on Ephesians 6:12 (TNIV):

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers,
against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the
spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

I've been working on putting this to a tune - Ode to Joy - how cheerful!! It's not the best tune for this scripture, but it's what I came up with.

Memory Monday!

I must admit that I have done poorly with Memory Monday BUT I'm not going to get discouraged and give up!!! He will never leave me nor forsake me (Hebrews 3:5-6) nor shall I leave or forsake Him (or forsake my goal of hiding His word in my heart)!

I still have the goal of memorizing all of Jeremiah 29:11-13. Here's what I know for the first verse (which is below): I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and not harm you.

I realize that is not exactly what it says (and I could've looked down there for the exact answer, but that would defeat the purpose, wouldn't it?) but it's what I know :-).

Memory Monday


When I was visiting crownlaiddown's blog, I saw that she had joined in a new meme that the The Simple Wife has started called Memory Monday.

The goal of Memory Monday is to engrave God's Word on our hearts (or a fancy way of saying we need to memorize some verses). There are all kinds of reasons for this, and all kinds of verses that support it. Simply put, as believers, we need to know the Word. By heart.

So, here are the "rules" to Memory Monday:

Each Monday pick a verse or passage to memorize for the upcoming week. And the next Monday, we'll type it out BY MEMORY and choose another one!

I guess in theory, I don't need to type anything out today, but I want to start, so I'll type out a verse I know by heart:

Be still and know that I am God.
Psalm 46:10

My goal for next week is to have memorized Jeremiah 29:10-13.

I'm working on the button for the blog. I'm having a little issue right now. (I doubt you can click on the picture and have it work. It's cute though!)
