I picked this book to review because I have heard Marilyn Meberg speak at a Women of Faith conference and I have enjoyed reading other material written by her. She is funny, yet insightful. I am always craving more - more of what? Time? Food? Alone time? Together time?  I'm constantly craving more of Jesus - not the empty fillers that I think I need. Let Marilyn Meberg talk to you about cravings, people in the bible who had cravings and how those cravings were filled.

My Review
This book is all that it says it is and more. It is broken down into very short chapters and lists. Some of the to-do items included: Take a ferry ride, what to do when in Ireland, where to go for various interesting sites, volunteer at a soup kitchen, memorize a bible verse every week, journal, do something nice for your neighbor, pay for the car behind you when you're in a drive through. Most of the items were simple and FREE! I think this will make a nice gift book and I will be using it as a tool to do things outside of my comfort zone.

My thoughts:
I heard Stephen Arterburn speak at a Women of Faith event I attended not that long ago. His story, in some ways, was similar to mine. A heart betrayed, a marriage bond broken, a person trying to make the best out of what she had been given. I was impressed when he spoke about his bonus children from his "new" marriage. Because of his sharing, I chose this book to read and review. 

Have you ever gotten a book and thought about all the people the book could help - if they would only just pick it up, read it and follow through with the steps? That is how I felt about this book. It's not just a self help book - but more of a guide for having your hurts healed in a God honoring way, written by a man who writes about his own experiences. 

Brother or sister - do you need to heal? Then allow the material in this book to help guide your path. It's well written and enjoyable to read.

I had the hardest time reading this book and couldn't get past the first chapter. Truth be told, I might have been scared off by the introduction. I just did not understand it. If you like the more complicated reads, this might just be the book for you. Before you decide not to buy this book, please read some other reviews.

Women of Faith Atlanta, GA #wofimagine

What an amazing weekend my mom and I had at the Women of Faith conference in Atlanta, Georgia. In case you didn't know, Women of Faith is a faith-based women's organization encouraging women of all ages and stages in life to grow in faith and spiritual maturity through a relationship with Jesus Christ and an understanding of God’s love and grace.

This was my first conference and I plan to go back again. So much talent and so many messages in just 2 short days. Amazing! I had the pleasure of hearing so many speakers, authors and musicians. I'm almost overwhelmed trying to even write about it.Let's see if any of the pictures help get out what I would like to convey.

And I was introduced to Mary Mary and their music. WOW! I have downloaded some of their songs on my iPod and have been enjoying them. They will get you on your feet and moving. Praise Jesus!

In addition to being touched by the speakers and performers at the conference, I had the opportunity to hear about WorldVision microfinance. For $25, I will help empower a mom start or maintain her own business so she can support her family. Potentially, I could help 12 different families in a year. It is a great program.
